About the Authors and Illustrators

Kathryn the Grape was created by Natural Kidz owner, Kathryn Cloward. As a child, Kathryn Cloward was gifted the nickname Kathryn the Grape by her softball coach, the late Nello Pierozzi ("Mr. P") because she wore purple all the time. Years later, after her mom had the idea to do so, Cloward brought her nickname to life in the Kathryn the Grape children's book series.

With the second Kathryn the Grape book, Cloward and illustrator Christine Winscott combine creative talents with co-author Ginny Hornby. Inspired by the desire to help children build self esteem and learn important life lessons through dynamic stories and vibrant illustrations, Cloward, Winscott, and Hornby help children learn to shine and remind them that everyone is magical and colorful!
